Pre- & Post-Natal Yoga

The benefits of yoga during pregnancy and for postpartum reintegration are multitudinous! During pregnancy, the body secretes a hormone called relaxin, which loosens and relaxes the joints and ligaments- it’s great for preparing the body for birth, but can also be quite destabilizing, making us feel off-balance and more susceptible to injury during pregnancy. Yoga helps to prepare the body and nervous system for pregnancy and birth through strengthening and stabilizing postures, keeps you moving when higher impact exercise no longer feels correct, and is a soothing balm to the mind and spirit during the stressful and exciting time pre- and post- birth. When you’re ready to start moving again postpartum, yoga is a gentle way to ease back into movement, and a beautiful way to practice carving out time to nourish yourself during the chaos of postpartum.

Pre- and post-natal yoga classes are tailored to meet the unique needs of each trimester. As baby grows, we adjust our practice with props and modifications to best support and nurture both you and babe during this magical (& demanding!) time.

No prior yoga experience is necessary, but it’s a good idea to make sure that you are cleared by your provider to do yoga during your pregnancy.

We have a small number of extra mats available— bringing your own mat is strongly encouraged!

We also have limited blocks, blankets and bolsters available.
